Positron

Positron Access develops a broad portfolio of telecommunication equipment for applications including Mobile Backhaul, Metro Ethernet networks, core transport networks, access and edge aggregation, wireless and triple-play backhaul. Positron offers Aktino carrier class bonded copper solutions that enable carriers to quickly and economically deploy Ethernet and DS3 services with fiber like bandwidth and reliability. Positron also produces carrier class metro optical transmission equipment for SONET/SDH and packet based networks. Collectively the optical and copper based products provide a complete portfolio to enable the migration of legacy networks to the next generation Ethernet based networks.

VDSL2 Broadband Reach Extender (BRX-VDSL2)

The BRX-VDSL2, the latest addition to the BRX family, extends the reach of VDSL2 DSLAMs or MSANs to expand the Customer Serving Area (CSA) by a factor of at least 50% for services up to at least 50 Mbps on a single copper pair. Subscribers beyond 4,000 feet (1.2 km) on a 24 AWG (0.5mm) copper pair will get 30% to 50+% increase in bandwidth.

The BRX-VDSL2 increases the bandwidth to residential and business customers and can be coupled with 2-pair and 8-pair bonding technologies for even higher bandwidth. It delivers a fiber-like user experience so customers can enjoy top quality video streaming with multiple HD feeds and still have enough bandwidth to simultaneously surf the web and use other applications. The increase in the available bandwidth capacity on existing last mile infrastructure results in higher ARPU, lower attrition and increased customer satisfaction at a low cost.

Broadband Reach Extender BRX-XLR

The Broadband Reach Extender – Extra Long Reach (BRX-XLR) is a fully integrated solution that extends the reach of deployed ADSL / ADSL2+ DSLAMs or MSANs to deliver 10 Mbps per pair to subscribers at 17,000 feet (5.2 km) on 24 AWG (0.51 mm) copper pairs. It is being used for a multitude of applications and it is particularly well suited in underserved or unserved markets. An increase in the available bandwidth capacity on existing last mile infrastructure results in higher ARPU, lower attrition and increased customer satisfaction.

BRX-XLR Features:

  • High performance and cost effective subscriber loop extension
  • Re-use existing right-of-way and eliminate complex civil engineering work
  • Strict adherence to ADSL2+ / ADSL Standards
  • Extended operating temperature
  • Powered from sealing current (max 2mA or 100mW per pair)
  • Flexible packaging options (1, 2, 8, 24 and 48 pairs)
